About the speakers:

COLA Chief Executive Officer Douglas A. Beigel is responsible for helping nearly 8,000 laboratories across the country fulfill their accreditation obligations under CLIA 1988.

In 2010, Beigel received the “Edwards Medal” from The American Society for Quality (ASQ) in recognition of his outstanding leadership and innovative contributions to the field of quality methodology. Under his leadership, COLA in 2011 also was formally registered as meeting high “Quality Management System” standards established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).  Re-certified in 2014, COLA is presently the only healthcare accreditation organization deemed by CMS which is certified to satisfy the ISO 9001: 2008 standard.

Mr. Beigel holds a Master of Arts degree from Loyola College and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Baltimore

Glen McDaniel is a veteran laboratorian with quite a diverse background. He has been a clinical lab scientist for over 25 years, and is active in local and national professional organizations. He believes vehemently in a strong, proud profession, with independent practice under the control of clinical lab scientists. McDaniel also contribues to the ADVANCE Blog Community.

Thomas O. Tiffany, PhD, is the CEO and founder of Adept Clinical Consultants LLC (AC2T), a recently formed consulting company comprised of highly expert laboratory and Hospital CEOs and CIOs. Prior to that, he was general manager, followed by President and CEO of Pathology Associates Medical Laboratories (PAML) until his retirement in March 2012.
